چکیده

Background The aim for ultrahigh field coronary MR angiography (MRA) is to convert the benefit of increased signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) to improved spatial resolution and thereby better vessel edge sharpness (VES), while vessel conspicuity is preserved. Furthermore, black blood coronary MRA has been shown to be an alternative technique to detect arterial remodeling in patients with coronary artery disease, but has never been performed at 7 Tesla. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare high resolution (HR) coronary magnetic resonance angio-

Coronary magnetic resonance imaging after routine implantation of bioresorbable vascular scaffolds allows non-invasive evaluation of vascular patency

BACKGROUND Evaluation of recurrent angina after percutaneous coronary interventions is challenging. Since bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS) cause no artefacts in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) due to their polylactate-based backbone, evaluation of vascular patency by MRI might allow for non-invasive assessment and triage of patients with suspected BVS failure. METHODS Patients with pol...

1.5 versus 3 versus 7 Tesla in abdominal MRI: A comparative study

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the feasibility as well as potential impact of altered magnetic field properties on image quality and potential artifacts of 1.5 Tesla, 3 Tesla and 7 Tesla non-enhanced abdominal MRI. MATERIALS AND METHODS Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging of the upper abdomen was performed in 10 healthy volunteers on a 1.5 Tesla, a 3 Tesla and a 7...

Noninvasive in vivo human coronary artery lumen and wall imaging using black-blood magnetic resonance imaging.

BACKGROUND High-resolution MRI has the potential to noninvasively image the human coronary artery wall and define the degree and nature of coronary artery disease. Coronary artery imaging by MR has been limited by artifacts related to blood flow and motion and by low spatial resolution. METHODS AND RESULTS We used a noninvasive black-blood (BB) MRI (BB-MR) method, free of motion and blood-flo...

Advantage in Bright-blood and Black-blood Magnetic Resonance Imaging with High-resolution for Analysis of Carotid Atherosclerotic Plaques

BACKGROUND About 50% of the cerebral ischemia events are induced by intracranial and extracranial atherosclerosis. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and accuracy for displaying atherosclerotic plaques in carotid arteries and analyzing their ingredients by using high-resolution new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques. METHODS Totally, 49 patients suspected of extracranial ca...

Cardiac MRI at 3 Tesla - Challenges and Technical Solutions

Introduction Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has rapidly become the imaging method of choice for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, and its clinical indications have expanded greatly in the last decade [1]. Although the majority of CMR examinations is still performed at a field strength of 1.5 Tesla, the growing availability of 3 Tesla scanners has resulted in an increasing number of CMR...
